More and more transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming people are interested in building their families. Are you ready to support them?
This interactive workshop will prepare you to understand and welcome the trans community into your practice. In a friendly, safe environment, you’ll learn from leading trans pregnancy educator Trystan Reese as he shares his personal story alongside cutting-edge data and industry best practices for transgender inclusion.
Together, we’ll cover the following topics:
Using accurate names and pronouns for your clients (and their partners)
Understanding the basics of how hormones impact ovulation, menstruation, and fertility in general
Advising clients on resuming hormones postpartum
Supporting lactation using trauma-informed practices, including lactation induction in partners and lactation suppression in patients who desire it
Advocating for clients within other systems, such as hospitals, medical clinics, or birth centers
Skillfully rebuilding trust when a mistake around language has been made
Auditing their paperwork, marketing materials, and digital footprint to be inclusive of all genders
Plus lots of time for practicing your new skills and Q&A as we go!
The session will take place in person in Sydney, Australia on April 25th from 4pm-7pm. Location will be selected based on registrant needs, and will be announced closer to the training date.
