The National Black Midwives Alliance (NBMA) is honored to present this training and workshop facilitated by Kayden Coleman, a transmasculine advocate and Black trans dad of two daughters committed to correcting misconceptions about the transmasculine fertility and birthing experience and offering education that can translate to competent care for transmasculine birthing people. Through this workshop training, Kayden will offer midwife providers a discussion of transmasculine fertility and birth through lived experience, myths and facts about pregnancy and testosterone, and best practices for how to be an ally. http://bit.ly/blacktransbirth
NBMA is a professional alliance of Black midwives and students with the goal to establish a representative voice at the national level that organizes, advocates and brings visibility to the issues impacting Black midwives and the communities they serve. More info can be found at blackmidwivesalliance.org.
Kayden's work is vital to our community. Through this collaboration, we bring this much-valued workshop and training to the community free for NBMA members and at subsidized registration for non-member midwives and students in order to simultaneously remove barriers for Black midwives and students and increase access to information about caring for transmasculine people.
