Your Voice Matters: Two New Studies Seeking Participants
Trans ART Study at the University of Pennsylvania
A trans researcher at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Social Policy & Practice is currently performing a study focused on the experiences of trans and gender diverse (TGD) people who have used assisted reproductive technologies (ART) while trying to conceive.
The survey here includes questions on gender identity, conception experiences, mental health, and interactions with medical providers. It takes about 30 minutes, and eligibility is confirmed in the first few questions.
Questions can be directed to: tgdttcstudy@gmail.com.
Eligible participants are:
Age 18–60
Transgender, nonbinary, gender diverse, or otherwise non-cisgender
Currently trying to conceive or have used medically assisted conception within the past 5 years (IVF, medicated IUI, IUI, egg retrieval, sperm banking)
Have received care from a reproductive endocrinologist, nurse midwife, home midwife, or a fertility clinic
Pacifica Graduate Institute’s Queer Flourishing Study
This project is exploring the lived experiences of gender expansive parents and caregivers, including transgender, nonbinary, and other gender-diverse people, who are raising or caring for children.
The study, “Gender-Expansive Worldmaking in Webs of Relationship: Co-Creating Intergenerational Queer Flourishing,” explores how, amid oppressive circumstances, gender-expansive parents and caregivers cultivate intergenerational flourishing through care, belonging, and imaginative worldbuilding practices within their web of relationships that extends beyond the human world to include land, plants, animals and spiritual relationships.
All participation is voluntary, flexible, and confidential. This research is being conducted by Liberty Gonzalez (they/them), a doctoral candidate at Pacifica Graduate Institute in the Depth Psychology program's Community, Liberation, Indigenous and Ecopsychologies Specialization.
Participation may include:
30-minute intake call
Optional asynchronous review of discussion prompts (~30 minutes)
A 2-hour online opening circle to build connection and share stories
A 2-hour co-dreaming and co-creation circle to express experiences through art, imagination, or conversation
Optional one-on-one interviews (about 60 minutes)
Optional collective analysis to interpret and make meaning together
